TAX MANAGER 

Job Summary

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organized, outgoing, creative professional with good communication/presentation skills, a professional in attitude and conduct, high level of integrity, high sense of responsibility and adaptability, and a presentable and professional dress sense with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • High-level review and analysis of Audited Financial Statements of clients.
  • Manage the preparation and review of direct and indirect tax returns (e.g., CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, and Transfer Pricing) for both national and multinational clients.
  • Provide technical tax guidance on general corporate and individual taxes and minimize client tax liabilities and risks.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff and senior associates.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage workflow assignments.
  • Manage relationships with client executives and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure tax issues from research and tax authorities’ notices are brought to the attention of the clients.
  • Evaluate client needs and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary liaison during tax audits and investigations. Engage tax authorities (e.g., Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) and State Internal Revenue Services (State IRSs) in Nigeria and relevant local revenue services) to resolve tax queries.
  • Identify opportunities for new service offerings, participate in proposal pitches, and assist partners in expanding the firm’s tax practice.

Qualifications / Personal attributes

  • Graduate in numerate sciences, especially in accounting or economics.
  • Must be a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax practictioner with a minimum of 5 years of working experience in an accounting firm.
  • Good knowledge of Nigerian and international tax laws and principles.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS).
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, concepts, and conventions.

 

TAX SUPERVISOR 

Job Summary

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organized, outgoing, creative professional with good communication/presentation skills, a professional in attitude and conduct, high level of integrity, high sense of responsibility and adaptability, and presentable and professional dress sense with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Review Audited Financial Statement of clients.
  • Supervises day-to-day tax engagements.
  • Review of federal, state, and international tax returns and workpapers.
  • Lead and supervise tax research on complex tax issues.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate junior tax associates.
  • Supervise workflow, provide feedback, and assist in performance reviews of the team.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, responding to queries.
  • Ensuring tax services are delivered in line with the firm’s quality standards.
  • Ensure complete compliance with state and federal tax laws.
  • Prepare documentation and coordinate with tax authorities during audits and inspections, ensures effective response to tax authorities’ notices and queries.

Qualifications / Personal attributes

  • Good Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) Financial Statements.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards concepts and conventions.
