Tax Supervisor
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organised, outgoing, creative professional with good communication/presentation skills, and a professional in attitude and conduct, high level of integrity, high sense of responsibility and adaptability, and sharp, presentable and professional dress sense with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of tax computation in line with the various tax laws specific to a client.
- Preparation of work plan for manager’s review and approval.
- Preparation of the tax service line's monthly performance report for the manager’s review.
- Provision and preparation of tax specialty advice to all tax enquiries for the manager’s review.
- Review of tax computations referred to the tax service line (TSL) by the Audit and Assurance Service Line (AASL).
- Ensuring that the clients comply with the VAT returns and WHT remittance requirements.
- Assignment of work to and supervision of subordinates.
- Assisting the manager in preparing and monitoring the Tax Service Line budget approved by the partner.
- Preparing a response to tax queries for the manager’s review.
- Ensuring that assignments are carried out in line with the approval processes and procedures of the tax service line.
- Regular surfing of the GTI net/connect for tax alerts and other related tax updates for the attention of the manager and the partner for the benefit of the tax service line personnel.
- Regular browsing of the FIRS, CITN and other related websites for tax updates for the benefit of the tax service line personnel through the manager and partner.
- Receiving and coordinating the weekly performance report of subordinates.
- Coordinating and monitoring of the weekly task budget approved by the partner and/or manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Good knowledge of basic elements of standard financial statements.
- Knowledge of IFRS.
- Knowledge of accounting standards concepts and conventions.
- Knowledge of all relevant laws guiding the accounting/audit professions.
- Good communication/presentation skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of integrity.
- High sense of responsibility, accountability and adaptability.
- Sharp, presentable and professional dress sense.
- First degree in numerate sciences, especially in Accounting or economics.
- Must be a Chartered Accountant with experience required.
